The greenest choice in clear and sustainable design

When it comes to extruded acrylic, Ecocrylic is the greenest choice you can make. Ecocrylic is the first of its kind to be made entirely from recycled material. The sheets are produced locally in Europe and are available from Pyrasied. The carbon emissions released during its manufacture are far lower than those for virgin acrylic. With Ecocrylic, you are not only choosing durability, you are also cutting carbon emissions!

  • Made entirely from recycled acrylic
  • Manufactured in Europe
  • Contributes to reducing carbon emissions
  • Circular material as it can be recycled over and over again
  • Fire certification and food certification possible

Ecocrylic is the crystal clear choice for a green future!

Ecocrylic is a clear material that comes in a range of thicknesses from 2 to 10 mm. Because it is not immediately clear just how sustainable the material is, it comes with a protective film displaying this information.

Ecocrylic Clear Extruded acrylic: second to none

Ecocrylic Clear Extruded acrylic

  • 100% recycled pre- and post-consumer acrylic
  • Crystal clear
  • UV-resistant

Ecocrylic is not only crystal clear and colourfast, it’s also UV-resistant. By selecting recycled extruded acrylic, you are choosing a circular material. The acrylic used for these sheets is sourced from waste materials such as LCD screens and production residue. It is a sustainable and above all green choice in the world of acrylics. The main advantage of this material is that it can be recycled and reused over and over again.

Ecocrylic is a unique product. This circular extruded acrylic product contains recycled pre- and post-consumer acrylic and is 100% recyclable. Ecocrylic is UV-resistant and crystal-clear. This sheet material has a negligible thickness tolerance: it is effectively precision glass in extruded form. This material qualifies for our take-back service, so we can recycle it at the end of its service life.

Get started with Ecocrylic®

Ecocrylic is an extruded acrylic with all the excellent properties of non-recycled (virgin) PMMA/acrylic. Consequently, recycled acrylic can be used in the same applications as virgin acrylic. The material is highly suitable for use in projects where sustainability is of primary importance.

Recycled acrylic is widely used in store interiors, exhibition and set construction, and designing of secondary glazing, windows, showcases, displays, protective covers, furniture, and wall presentations. This material is less suited to extremely demanding optical applications, for instance as light guide plates. For this purpose, we would recommend using standard acrylic.

Processing options

Ecocrylic has all the sustainability benefits and can be processed in the same way as standard extruded acrylic. Ecocrylic can be sawn, milled, laser cut, bonded, bent, drilled, bevelled, polished, given a matte finish and printed. Almost all types of processing are possible with Ecocrylic. Pyrasied can perform these processes for you or advise and/or support you in this area.
