From February 22 to 26, 2026, the international retail world gathered in Düsseldorf for EuroShop 2026. With 14 exhibition halls full of innovations in store concepts, materials and technology, this trade fair is the place where the future of retail becomes visible.
Pyrasied was also present. Together with Smile Materials, Durat, EchoJazz, Green Cast and Versato, we presented The Material Boutique: a carefully curated collection of aesthetic and sustainable plastic materials for interior design, retail and creative projects. While welcoming visitors to the boutique, we also explored the halls ourselves in search of the latest developments and trends.
In this blog, we share the main trends from EuroShop 2026.
Technology & AI: smart tools for efficient and customer-friendly stores
At EuroShop, artificial intelligence (AI) stood out as the leading technological trend. Innovations are making physical stores and food services faster, more efficient and more customer-friendly:
- AI-powered self-checkouts: smart cameras and analytics tools speed up the checkout process, detect errors or fraud, and simplify product recognition and age verification.
- Smart shopping carts and digitally connected store environments: products are scanned during shopping, personalized offers are displayed, and retailers can optimize inventory management and customer interaction.
- Smart kitchens and foodservice automation: robots and automated kitchens improve speed, consistency and the overall customer experience.
- Practical robotics: from inventory management to POS systems and kiosks, technology is becoming more accessible and widely applicable.
EuroShop 2026 demonstrated that while technology is a powerful tool, the physical experience remains essential. Sustainable, high-quality materials play an important role here: they make the store environment tangible, improve the digital experience and translate brand identity into a clear visual experience.

Sustainability in retail and store design
As digitalization continues to grow, there is an increasing demand for store experiences that can be seen and felt. Materials have a crucial role: they make a brand recognizable, create atmosphere and are essential for storytelling within a store.
Sustainability is no longer optional; it is a necessity. Retailers are choosing materials that not only look good but are also environmentally responsible and long-lasting. Durable materials that use fewer resources and can be reused have become the standard in store design and planning.
Retailers are, moreover, expecting more from suppliers: they seek new and innovative ideas, expert advice, and collaboration in creating sustainable store concepts. Therefore, materials play a significant role in both engaging retail experiences and sustainability.

Key material trends at EuroShop 2026
- Mirrors and holographic materials
Mirror acrylic and iridescent-effect materials give spaces a futuristic and dynamic appearance. They add depth, color play and movement, enhancing the visual experience of retail concepts. SIBU DESIGN demonstrated how reflective structures, rich textures and intense color reflections can visually strengthen brands.

- Stone-look and natural textures
Stone-look materials such as composites and ceramics offer a timeless, high-end appearance and align well with sustainable design principles. A notable product in this category was the decorative panels by Artstone, which combine natural stone aesthetics with modern technology.
Translucent Stone fits perfectly within this trend. These light-transmitting panels combine the luxurious look of alabaster, marble, onyx and quartz with lightweight and sustainable properties. Their subtle transparency works beautifully with lighting, creating vibrant and dynamic spaces.
- Textile Recycling Boards
A recent innovation in circular materials is Textile Recycling Boards. These panels transform textile waste into durable, functional materials for furniture, wall cladding and interior applications. Materials such as PANECO® contribute to a circular retail environment where reuse and upcycling are central.
Conclusion: technology and sustainable materials shape the store of tomorrow
EuroShop 2026 shows that the future of retail lies in a smart combination of technology, automation and sustainable materials. By integrating these trends, retailers can create store experiences that are attractive, efficient and future proof. EuroShop confirms that technology and materials go hand in hand in designing the store of tomorrow.
