Mock-ups and prototypes
We regularly make mock-ups or prototypes for our customers. For serial or large-scale orders, we have found that it is wise to define and set out the specifications with the customer in the early stages of the production process. This helps us to ensure consistent quality when integrating our production into the customer’s supply chain. This way of working is used by a number of quality lighting manufacturers as well as mechanical engineering and high-tech companies.
Versatile prototyping
Even in the specialist area of prototyping, the range of possibilities is virtually endless. In the lighting sector, for example, we can test luminaires in a replicated or actual environment. This means that we can work with our customers to optimize new products. Designers also appreciate having their concept turned into a tangible prototype, which can help manage expectations for any potential product or project.
Rolling out a new store design
Interior designers and shop fitters also like to use our prototyping and mock-up services, for example, when rolling out a new store design worldwide for an international brand. On larger projects, we begin by creating a mock-up of, say, a luxury display, wall presentation or checkout fixture. Following approval by the client – or after a successful flagship store opening – we manufacture the items to the client’s schedule as the new design is rolled out.
Together at the drawing board
We believe the process of making a mock-up or a prototype is a collaborative one. Our client sketches out the ideal situation, and then we get started with our machines together. For example, we made a prototype for LUMC while several employees watched our skilled CNC operators go to work on the milling machine. By sitting together at the drawing board and trying out ideas, we turn the concept into a reality. Of course, this isn’t necessary for all mock-ups and prototypes. It is also possible to have us make a mock-up or prototype and then discuss it together.
Samples in any desired format
Instead of a complete mock-up or prototype, you can also request a sample in any format you need. By the way, our standard samples measure 100 x 100 mm.
