Interior architect Glenn Kop of Woodfever came up with charming Art Deco elements. Light, marble and a stunning mural create a warm and stylish ambience in the interior. The wall cladding is made of hundreds of small scales in mirror acrylic that form the tail of a fish.
A new interior to match the menu. The Simply Fish restaurant wanted a new style that would align with their speciality: seafood. They use fine, fresh produce from the Eastern Scheldt and the surrounding area.

The golden acrylic scales form the outline of the fish, and the anthracite-coloured scales fill it in. The scales are placed so that they overlap each other to create a greater illusion of depth. It was quite a job to secure the scales this way, but Woodfever’s interior design pulled it off.
When Woodfever asked Pyrasied if we could make hundreds of small scales, we seized the challenge with both hands! In the end, Pyrasied produced more than 900 scales. After examining several samples, Woodfever knew what they needed, choosing mirror acrylic in anthracite and gold.
All of the mirror sheets were brought in for this project. Pyrasied’s CNC machines laser cut more than 900 scales. Fortunately, this wasn’t a problem for Pyrasied’s extensive range of machinery. As the cutting method used lasers, beautifully smooth glass edges were the result.
